New prints!

I was in a spring mood, so I made these two new prints! Moreover, I have been trying to improve my photography skills when it comes to taking pictures of my print work. It’s more difficult than you might think! I’m sure there is still a lot of room for improvement, but for now this will do. You can see the result at my webshop.

IF: Shades

After some doodling, I started with the real work. This pattern is the result. I’m quite happy about it, but I’m still playing with different colours and shades. Really curious about which one you prefer…

London souvenirs

This is what I brought from London: 1. ‘You can still do a lot with a small brain’ Tea towel, a design by Robert Ryan. I bought this in his small shop in Columbia Road. 2. Angela Flanders‘ perfume shop is in Columbia Road too. She creates her own exclusive and original perfumes with natural ingredients. The one I bought is called ‘Cashmere Noir’. 3. This greeting card has a design by the very talented Blanca Gomez. 4. Fabric tape with a flower pattern. 5. Two postcards from Lagom Design. I bought the last three items at Paperchase, a shop where I lose track of time ;-)

I have something special with patterns. Whenever I spot a pattern somewhere, I get a strong feeling that urges me to see this pattern from close by and to touch it. So it’s not a big surprise that I’ve started designing patterns myself. The ones you can see above are just some tries. I haven’t decided yet what I’m going to do with them. I’m not even sure if I’m going to use them at all. But more pattern designs will follow, that’s for certain. The possibilities are endless and I just love it!

Three happy penguins

I’m in a colourful mood these days… and then of course I use bright colours in my work. These penguins have nothing but good intentions, even more: they want to make you happy! If that works, you might love the company of one of my penguins. You can have one with you; just have a look at my online shop!

Just to inform you: Leen’s is on Twitter from now on!

Inspiring London

I’ve just arrived at home from a great trip to London! ‘Time flies when you’re having fun’ is a quote that really counts when visiting London. There are so many things to do and see that I had constantly this feeling I was missing a lot. But well, that means there is always a good reason to go back ;-) One of these days I’ll show you some of the souvenirs I bought. And now, with this bunch of inspiration I gathered in London, I will get back to work!

Here is my contribution to Illustration Friday for this week. I’m trying out different colour pallets. Which one do you prefer?
